Project Overview
The Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce unites local government and businesses, providing the programs and resources members need to meet their goals. As the sole UX designer, I was hired to improve the functionality of the website through a redesign.
Goal
Improve the quality of life for website visitors.
Reduce Friction Points
Improve Microcopy and give better understanding of the Chamber
My Role
As the sole UX designer, I iterated on my designs and communicated with my client on a consistent basis, making sure that we were aligned on what needed to be prioritized. I worked on the information archiecture of the homepage, about us page, and created the benefits. page.
Original Homepage
Areas to Address
Excess Copy
UI Cleanliness
Information Hierachy
Updated Homepage
For the new homepage I wanted to give more useful info at a glance, reducing paragraphs of text and provide sections that give users information on what the chamber offers and links for events and membership signup.
Impact: Deliver better understanding of Chamber benefits and improve signup flow
By modifying the information architecture, website visitors are able to digest the information about the chamber more effectively, while simultaneously having access to more information on hand compared to the original iteration. As a result, users are able to navigate more efficiently and find information that helps convert leads into increased event and member signups.
